ArmInfo. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Vincenzo del Monaco.
According to the press service of the Armenian leader, Sargsyan expressed hope that with his active work the newly appointed ambassador will contribute to deepening the traditional friendly Armenian-Italian relations and expanding cooperation in various fields.
The interlocutors agreed that high-level Armenian-Italian intergovernmental relations develop on the solid historical foundations and rich cultural heritage of the two peoples. However, in their opinion, the potential for developing relations and expectations is much greater.
"Our goal is to constantly identify this potential, increase trade turnover between the two countries, intensify the political dialogue, strengthen cultural ties and our relations in general in all spheres, "the Armenian President underscored. In turn, Monaco assured that he would do everything possible to justify the confidence he had given him and during his tenure will, if possible, strengthen and deepen relations with a reliable partner of Italy, Armenia, both bilaterally and in a multilateral format, within the framework of international organizations.
