ArmInfo. China's "One Belt, One Way" initiative can help promote peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus. This initiative was the subject of discussions held the day before in the permanent parliamentary commission on foreign relations with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Armenia Tyan Erlun.
According to the press service of the National Assembly of Armenia, in the course of the discussions the chairman of the commission Armen Ashotyan, speaking about the world processes, stressed that with the current international challenges, China's new initiative can serve to establish tranquility in the South Caucasus region.
In his turn, the Chinese diplomat stressed that official Beijing stands for the resolution of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict exclusively by peaceful means through negotiations. During the discussions, issues related to the agenda of cooperation between the two states on international platforms, cooperation in the economic, investment and humanitarian spheres were also discussed.
Note that the PRC plans to invest $ 15 billion in the implementation of the "One Belt, One Way" initiative, a project that should link the Far East, Central Asia and Europe. Earlier, speaking to the deputies of the Uzbek parliament, Chinese President Xi Jinping outlined the future of the region within the framework of the One Belt, One Way project. "The first stage of the initiative - project development and planning - has already been completed, and now we are laying the foundation for further sustainable development," the Chinese leader said at the time, promising major Chinese investments in the development of rail transport and energy supply.
