ArmInfo.It is planned to create scientific clusters in Armenia. On the eve of the meeting in Moscow with the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Levon Mkrtchyan stated.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, during the meeting the interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the expansion cooperation between the two states in the scientific sphere. Presenting the ongoing scientific reforms in the country, Levon Mkrtchyan informed that Armenia is a participant of the European Union's program "Horizon 2020", which opens wide opportunities for the implementation of scientific grant programs. As an effective model, it is planned to create scientific clusters that will become a platform for mutually beneficial cooperation between universities, scientific institutions and business. The Minister stressed the importance of involving students in these programs, expressing the hope for creating the necessary conditions for attracting student credit resources from students and from research institutes.
Within the framework of the forthcoming reforms in the scientific sphere, Levon Mkrtchyan highlighted the development of the Institute of Physics, especially in the direction of nuclear physics and particle physics. The parties expressed readiness to implement joint scientific and technical projects in the context of the possibility of cooperation with the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. Alexander Sergeev, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stressed that maintaining friendly relations with Armenia and strengthening cooperation is among the interests of the Russian side.
