
ArmInfo. Armenia is interested in strengthening and developing relations with Luxembourg in all spheres. On March 27, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn.
According to the press service of the Armenian leader, during the meeting, Serzh Sargsyan expressed the conviction that there is potential for strengthening and developing these relations, for the disclosure of which it is necessary to intensify the political dialogue, develop interparliamentary cooperation and expand the juridical field.
The interlocutors were unanimous in their opinion that the cooperation with the European Union "On an expanded and comprehensive partnership", which is important for the development of interaction and implementation of reform programs in Armenia, will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of the Armenian-Luxembourg relations.
During the meeting, the issue of the upcoming forum of Francophonie, which will be held in October 2018 in Yerevan, was also raised. The President expressed the hope that Luxembourg will be represented at the summit at the highest level.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, expressing gratitude for the invitation to participate in the summit of the Francophonie, wished successes to Armenia, both in holding this forum and two important events - the 100th anniversary of the May Uprising and the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan. Serzh Sargsyan highly appreciated Luxembourg's neutral position on the Nagorno-Karabakh problem and support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group, which is in tune with the EU's position. The President also expressed gratitude to the Luxembourg Parliament for unanimous adoption of the resolution on recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
