Representatives of the  parliamentary factions of Armenia give very sensitive comments in  connection with the verdict of the court of general jurisdiction  regarding the hero of the Artsakh war Zhirayr Safilyan and his  associates accused of illegal storage and use of weapons and  ammunition.

So the deputy from Tsarukyan bloc Vardan Bostanjyan stated in a  conversation with ArmInfo correspondent that he is sure that Zhirayr  Sefilyan is a devoted citizen of his homeland and many times he  showed his devotion to Armenia. "Everyone knows the contribution of  Sefilyan in the liberation war for Artsakh, but I refrain from  commenting on the verdict of the court against Sefilyan and his  supporters, I am not a lawyer, at the same time, I admit that the  verdict could be extremely tough for the patriot of the country, -  concluded Bostanjyan.  In turn, the deputy from the Elk faction, Lena  Nazaryan, also did not want to give assessments to the verdict. 

"Unfortunately, I can not evaluate this sentence, since I am not a  lawyer, but it is possible that in the near future the" Elk "faction  will make a statement on this matter," Nazaryan concluded. Almost a  similar response was given by another representative of the bloc  Artak Zeynalyan, who himself was an active participant in the  Karabakh war. But the head of the bloc faction Nikol Pashinyan said  yesterday that the verdict against Sefilyan is "a false verdict of  falsehood of the false state created by Serzh Sargsyan."

Representatives of the ARF faction "Dashnaktsutyun", whose member was  Zhirayr Sefilyan, refused to answer this question, passing the baton  to each other.  It should be noted that Zhirayr Sefilyan, the hero of  the Artsakh war, known for his opposition, was sentenced to 10.5  years of imprisonment on March 20, his companion-in-arms Gevorg  Safaryan to 5, the remaining accused for 4 years of imprisonment.  Sefilyan, was accused of illegal acquisition, storage and use of  weapons and ammunition. Sefilyan himself regarded the trial of him as  a political reprisal. 

Numerous violations of the law in the course of the trial in the case  of Sefilyan were also revealed by international experts. In support  of Sefilyan, public organizations of the Diaspora and Armenia, as  well as the Heritage party, also spoke.
