On March 19, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Head of the Armenia-US Friendship Depp Group Arpine Hovhannisyan stated at the press conference following the visit to the United States.

Hovhannisyan stated that the main purpose of the visit to the US was to demonstrate the reforms and achievements of Armenia. During the visit, Armenian parliamentarians held meetings with representatives of the Armenian community, representatives of the Cornegi Foundation, and Gretchen Birkly, deputy director of the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). "During these meetings we discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the IT sector, in the field of energy, and new projects for the trade sector," the vice-speaker noted. Also during the visit meetings were held in the US Congress. "During the meeting with representatives of the US Parliament, we discussed issues of intensifying cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, and from March 8 to 9 there were meetings in the State Department, which discussed Armenia's steps to combat corruption, as well as security issues and the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement ", the head of the Armenian delegation said. Arpine Hovhannisyan stressed that during the meetings in the Congress and the State Department, referring to the Karabakh settlement, the Armenian delegation stressed that the cause of the tense situation at the contact line between Artsakh and Azerbaijan is the destructive position of Baku. "During the meeting, we noted the need to implement the Minsk, Vienna and St. Petersburg agreements to ensure security in the region," said the vice-speaker of the Parliament. During the meetings, US representatives also asked the Armenian delegation to clarify the situation regarding the denunciation of the Armenian-Turkish protocols. In this regard, the Armenian parliamentarians stressed that Yerevan did its utmost to ratify the protocols, but Turkey's position on this issue was unacceptable.
