The visit of Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan to the United States is a serious impetus for the process of international recognition of the republic as a whole.   the adviser of the President of Artsakh Republic Tigran Abrahamyan expressed opinion in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent, summarizing the visit of Artsakh President to the US.

He stressed that the format of the American meetings and speeches of  Sahakyan was originally planned so as to evoke international  resonance. "Excuses were expected, the visit was widely commented on  by both international media and prominent political figures,"  Abrahamyan said.

As for the results of the visit to the US, here, the main goal,  according to the adviser, was the harmonization of positions on the  recent processes around the Karabakh settlement with prominent  representatives of the Armenian Diaspora, who, as is known, have a  wide range of influence. "In addition, the US is known to be the only  country directly providing financial assistance to Artsakh, and one  of those countries that recognizes Artsakh at the level of  administrative units. In this vein, the visit was aimed at  stimulating the recognition of Artsakh by the US states, as well as  the continuation of the US assistance to Artsakh", Abrahamyan said.

The adviser noted that Bako Sahakyan made and will continue to make  similar visits in order to impart international recognition to the  struggle of the Artsakh people for self-determination.

Speaking about the tough reaction of Baku and Ankara to Sahakyan's  visit to the US, Abrahamyan noted that it was predictable, as  Azerbaijan and Turkey always react sharply to the foreign visits of  the Artsakh officials.

"However, it became obvious to all that the reaction of Baku and  Ankara had no effect on either the US agenda of Bako Sahakyan or the  plans of the host party. It is remarkable that both Azerbaijan and  Turkey are well aware of this but continue to make protests during  each foreign visit Sahakyan with the purpose to somehow calm his  public against the backdrop of the inevitability of the process of  international recognition of Artsakh," the adviser to the President  of Artsakh summed up.

The visit of Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan to the United States  continues. Within the framework of the visit, he will held meetings  in the US Congress, with prominent representatives of the Armenian  Diaspora and the clergy, American public and political circles.  Sahakyan's visit was widely commented on in foreign media, he was  approached by the official representative of the Russian Foreign  Ministry Maria Zakharova. In this regard, Baku sent a note of protest  to the US State Department, and the Turkish prime minister issued a  harsh criticism.
