More than 30 officers of the armed forces of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting with the commanders of anti-aircraft missile battalions of the air defense forces of the armed forces of the member states of the Agreement on the creation of a joint CIS air defense system, which took place from 14 to 16 March on the basis of the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense.
According to Zvezda TV channel, representatives of the teaching staff of the school, as well as the secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS member states, the Coordinating Committee on Air Defense under the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states, the Central Troops Research Institute aerospace defense of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and the Almaz-Antei Air Defense Concern.
Within three days the participants of the meeting analyzed contemporary threats of the Russian Federation and the CIS member states, discussed issues related to the interaction of the military command and control agencies of the CIS integrated defense system, the development of military cooperation in military education, and the improvement of the legal framework for international military cooperation.The meeting with officers of various categories of air defense forces of the armed forces of the member states of the CIS Joint Air Defense System is conducted with officers of various categories of air defense forces since 2011 on the basis of various educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In the Yaroslavl Higher Military School of Air Defense this event is held for the second time. For 17 years, the charges were also held at the Military Academy of Air and Space Defense named after G.K. Zhukov in Tver, the Military Space Academy named after A.F. Mozhaisky in St. Petersburg and the Center for the Training of Specialists (Calculations) of Radio Engineering Troops in Vladimir.
