ArmInfo. Armenia attaches importance to parliamentary diplomacy, as an effective format for cooperation between countries. This was stated during the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Margot Wallstrom, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is on an official visit in Stockholm.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the interlocutors highly assessed the activities of the parliamentary friendship groups operating in the legislative bodies of Armenia and Sweden. The meeting stressed the importance of expanding the regulatory framework.
Nalbandian told his colleague about the process of Armenia's transition to the parliamentary system of government. The interlocutors discussed in detail the strengthening of the Armenian-Swedish cooperation in international organizations and within the framework of parliamentary assemblies.
The meeting touched upon issues related to the Armenia-EU relations. In this context, the signing of the Armenia-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement, as well as cooperation between the two sides in various fields, was highly appreciated.
The sides discussed a number of topical issues on the regional and international agenda. Nalbandian talked about the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict.
