ArmInfo. The delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia headed by Georgia's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Georgy Gakharia arrived in Armenia on February 23. The delegation included Deputy Interior Minister Levan Kakava, Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Tornike Mushukudia and other officials.
According to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Chief of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel-General Vladimir Gasparyan and high-ranking police officers greeted the guests at the Zvartnots airport.
In the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Georgian colleagues were greeted with a solemn ceremony, during which the guard of honor delivered a demonstration speech. Then the head of the police of the Republic of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan held a working meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Welcoming the guests, Vladimir Gasparyan highly appreciated the traditional partnership between the police structures of Armenia and Georgia and stressed the tangible results that have already been achieved through the joint efforts of law enforcement officers of the two friendly countries. Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Giorgi Gakhariy expressed his conviction that close cooperation of police structures in the field of combating crime will deepen, which is conditioned by the need to counteract the challenges together. During the meeting, the sides discussed other issues of mutual interest.
Vladimir Gasparyan awarded the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Georgy Gakhary with the medal "For Strengthening Cooperation".
