When Armenia started negotiations with the European Union on signing the Association Agreement, Russian partners - allies knew about it, European partners  knew that Yerevan is also negotiating with the Eurasian Economic Union on membership in the Customs Union of that time, said the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan at the Munich Security Conference , answering the question of the chairman of "Eurasia" grup Jan Bremer.

"Our historical experience shows that attempts to extract temporary  benefits from contradictions lead to great tragedies.We went through  such a tragedy and would not want the tragedies to repeat," the  Armenian leader summed up.
