As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, the Armenian minister stressed that periodic high-level visits give new impetus to the Armenian-Japanese friendly interaction.
Hori expressed the conviction that this meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the steps taken to expand and develop cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. The two sides underscored the importance of establishing embassies in Yerevan and Tokyo in terms of developing relations in different spheres.
Nalbandian expressed gratitude to Japan for consistent assistance to Armenia in order to ensure its continuous development. At the meeting, the sides discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, exchanged views on issues of political dialogue, interaction in international structures, intensification of trade and economic contacts, expansion of the regulatory framework, promotion of cultural exchange. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the existing inter-parliamentary cooperation. Nalbandian talked about the latest developments in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, presented the efforts of Armenia and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to find an exclusively peaceful solution to the problem. The interlocutors also discussed a number of topical issues on the international agenda.
