ArmInfo. The Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, received the Parliamentary Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan, Manab Khori, on February 16.
According to the press service of the Parliament, Babloyan noted that in recent years Armenian-Japanese relations have developed in different spheres. The head of the parliament noted the importance of inter- parliamentary relations, especially stressing the role of parliamentary friendship groups in the development of Armenian-Japanese relations. In this context, the speaker noted the importance of mutual visits of parliamentarians, as well as the exchange of experience.
Ara Babloyan highly appreciated Japan's balanced position on the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. The Chairman of the National Assembly also expressed his gratitude to the government of Japan for the support of Armenia for many years. The Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia expressed readiness to further promote the implementation of joint Armenian-Japanese programs. In turn, the Parliamentary Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Manabu Hori expressed the hope that his visit will give a new impetus to the further development and deepening of the relations between the two countries. Highly appreciating the level of relations between Japan and Armenia, he said that one of Japan's key partners is the RA.
Stressing the role of active parliamentary friendship groups in both countries, Hori expressed his readiness to contribute to the deepening of interstate relations. The sides also touched upon steps to strengthen cooperation in the economic, trade and cultural spheres, as well as on a number of other issues of bilateral interest.
