ArmInfo. Armenia will carry out the classification of land. Amendments to the Land Code and a package of related bills were approved at a government meeting on February 1. According to the Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan, the presented package is aimed at solving problems with desertification and combating violations of soil. In particular, the land in Armenia will be classified as cultivated, including arable land from the agricultural and forestry land fund, perennial plantations, homestead and horticultural lands, etc. According to Minasyan, the draft amendments are developed based on the commitments undertaken by Armenia under the Convention UN "On Combating Desertification," and other international treaties. The analysis of the ground soil will allow to really determine the changes caused by natural factors and human activities, especially when building roads.
