ArmInfo. Current global challenges make the economy more than vulnerable to external shocks, and regional development limits the potential for economic growth.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan expressed such an opinion on January 24 in his speech at the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Proceeding from this, as the President pointed out, Armenia seeks to make the best use of existing opportunities, including within the framework of integration processes. The head of Armenia reminded that in 2013 many people distrusted the decision of the Republic of Armenia to join the Eurasian Union. In fact, as he noted, Armenia has proved that it is able to combine work in two different integration structures, and even become an approximate model of cooperation. The full membership of Armenia in the EAEU did not become an obstacle to the signing of the Agreement on comprehensive and expanded partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union, Sargsyan said.
According to the president, Armenia continues to actively expand the boundaries of international integration in other areas, adding that the unique organization for cooperation is the International Organization of the Francophonie also from the point of view of preserving the cultural and linguistic heritage and promoting human rights.
