We are asking the law enforcement bodies of Armenia to find and punish the perpetrators of the crimes committed on March 1. We consider it unacceptable to dissolve the working group on March 1 events, since it could shed light on the army's participation in these events, and on election fraud. We call the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia to reconsider the indictments against opposition politicians and the activists on March 1. We are committed to developing a legislative package that will provide decent compensation to the relatives of victims of March 1 events, those who were convicted, as well as citizens who were injured by the police." The rationale for the proposal to introduce the Parliamentary statement "On the events of March 1, 2008" in particular states: "The purpose of this statement is to express the political assessment of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the events of March 1, 2008 - in particular to assess the fact that the murders of up to have not yet been disclosed, political persecution has been carried out by the authorities, the government's attempts to hide the most important episodes of the events of March 1, assess the political persecution of the relatives of the victims, and also conceal the fact that the relative deaths and injuries, as a result of the unlawful use of force by the police, did not receive legal compensation."
