Representatives of the Ombudsman of Armenia visited the members of the group "Sasna Tsrer"

ArmInfo. Representatives of the Office of the Ombudsman of Armenia paid a visit to the Nubarashen Penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of Armenia on January 16, where they met with members of the Sasna Tsrer Group Smabat Barseghyan, Araik Khandoyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan.

As the press service of the Ombudsman's Office informs, after the termination of the hunger strike, Smbat Barseghyan received an appropriate consultation on power mode. Barseghyan is now in the medical hospital of the Nubarashen UI, he feels well. A conversation was also held with Hovhannes Harutyunyan. During the visit it was found that on January 16 Hovhannes Harutyunyan was examined at the Hospital for Prisoners X-ray examination of the right knee joint, and also examined by a traumatologist.

During a personal interview with Araik Khandoyan, he was provided with the necessary legal advice regarding the legislative provisions concerning visits by a lawyer to a penal institution. A. Khandoyan is in the medical hospital of the Nubarashen UI. It should be noted that the armed group of supporters of the oppositionist, the hero of the Karabakh war Zhirayr Sefilyan "Sasna Tsrer" on July 17, 2016, seized the building of the patrol and guard service of the RA Police in the capital district of Erebuni. They demanded the resignation of President Serzh Sargsyan and the release of Zhirayr Sefilyan, who was arrested for setting up an organized group to seize strategic buildings.

 During the capture of the PPS regiment and subsequent events, 46 people were injured, of which 26 were police officers. Three policemen - Colonel Arthur Vanoyan and ensigns Gagik Mkrtchyan and Yuri Tepanosyan - were killed, ten at various times were held by the group, and seven - gunshot wounds of varying severity. On July 31, 2016, the members of Sasna Tsrer laid down their arms. In December 2017, three representatives of the group Armen Bilyan and Smbat Barseghyan and Araik Khandoyan announced that they wanted to transfer the hunger strike from the Nubarashen UIU to the "Armavir" penitentiary because of the inhuman conditions at the Nubarashen detention center.
