According to new recommendations, all countries of the world are divided into four categories: 1 - normal precautions, where the lowest level of risks in terms of and safety. 2 category - increased level of caution. The State Department provides additional advice and advice for travelers to this group of countries.
The third group included countries where the State Department recommends not to go because of serious security risks. And the last 4 groups are countries where the State Department calls not to travel, due to the high level of security risks to life. The State Department stresses that during an emergency the US government can have a very limited opportunity to help its citizens and, in this regard, advises them not to travel to these countries, or to leave their territories at the earliest opportunity.
At the same time, a map of recommendations has already been submitted for each country. According to the published data, Armenia is ranked among the first group of countries, where the risks to life from the security point of view are minimal.
However, the State Department recommends its citizens not to visit Nagorny Karabakh. The department notes that in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is still unsettled, and there are periodic losses.
"Periodic shooting and accidental use of artillery systems, including mortars, lead to deaths and injuries every year. Avoid roads near the line of contact and near the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. The US government can not provide emergency services to US citizens in Nagorno-Karabakh, since US civil employees do not have the opportunity to travel there, "the ministry said.
According to the same data, neighboring Azerbaijan is ranked among the second group of countries, with an increased level of caution. It is noted that this is connected with the threat of terrorism in the country: "Terrorist groups continue to plot possible terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan." Terrorists can attack tourist sites, transport hubs, markets / shopping centers, local government facilities, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, parks , major sports and cultural events, educational institutions, airports and other public places."
Georgia is also in the first group of countries, however, it is recommended that US citizens refrain from traveling to Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Russia and Turkey are included in the third category, where there is a serious security threat.
