ArmInfo. The draft of the statement "On genocidal actions against the Yezidi people from the side of Islamist terrorist groups in the places of their influence" was included in the appeal of the Armenian parliament.

In his speech from the rostrum of the parliament, Rustam Makhmudyan called on representatives of all parliamentary forces to join the document. "I am sure that the formulation of the issue is identical with the position of the Armenian society and political forces," the deputy said.
Earlier, the Yezidi community of Armenia appealed to the parliament with a call to pass a resolution condemning the Yezidis genocide both in the beginning of the 20th century in Ottoman Turkey and in the 21st century by the Islamic state, however, for various reasons the proposal was rejected, that caused dissatisfaction with the Yezidi community. Nevertheless, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan raised the issue of the massacre of the Yezidis by Islamist militants from the UN rostrum, urging the international community to prevent this tragedy.
