ArmInfo.The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, presented to the CSTO colleagues a draft statement of the Collective Security Council on the Karabakh issue, presented at the initiative of Armenia at the summit of the Organization.
The joint session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the secretaries of the Council of the National Security Committee of the CSTO member countries started in the capital of Belarus - Minsk on November 30, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported. The Armenian Security Council is represented by the acting head of the apparatus Aram Tananyan. The Armenian delegation was addressed by Foreign Minister Edward Nalbnadyan. In his speech, he noted that the organization has gone a quarter of a century. The Minister stressed the fact that during the CSTO summit meeting held in Yerevan last year, the CSTO Development Concept was approved until 2025, which clearly indicates the further actions of the structure.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed the implementation of the decisions taken in 2016 in Yerevan, and approved drafts of more than 20 documents that were included in the agenda of the CSC in the afternoon.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed issues of coordinating the foreign policy of the CSTO countries, developing military and military-technical cooperation, as well as issues related to information security and terrorism. The meeting participants touched upon the latest developments in the hot spots, namely in Syria and the Middle East. CSTO Secretary General Yury Khachaturov reported to the meeting participants about the current activities of the organization. Ministers considered issues related to the further development of the CSTO. As a result of the meeting, a number of documents related to the development of cooperation within the framework of the CSTO were signed.
