ArmInfo. The vice-presidents of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan and Aram Manukyan held a meeting with the delegation of the OSCE ODIHR, led by Alexander Shlik, the director of the election department of the structure.
According to the ANC office, the purpose of the delegation's visit is to discuss proposals and assessments presented in the OSCE ODIHR report on the results of the 2017 parliamentary elections. Representatives of the ANC presented violations to the members of the OSCE / ODIHR delegation recorded during the elections, which in their opinion were systemic and pervasive, ignoring the right of Armenian citizens to form power.
Levon Zurabyan, in particular, said that, in addition to the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, there was a consensus among all other political forces on the issue of the electoral system.
Nevertheless, the authorities only eight months before the election imposed a new law on the citizens of Armenia. As a result, the elections were held in a pervasive atmosphere of non-acceptance of the free will of citizens.
Representatives of the Congress also expressed their observations regarding the establishment of a democratic system in Armenia.
