ArmInfo.Within the framework of the visit to the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General of Armenia took part in the 27th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States on November 29 in St. Petersburg.
As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office informs, during the meeting, the prosecutors of the participating countries exchanged experience on counteraction illegal trafficking in narcotic and psychotropic substances, combating torture, protecting the rights of citizens. The Council discussed and approved a program to combat extremism, terrorism and other forms of violence for 2017-2019, as well as a plan to combat crime using information technology for 2017-2020.
The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Artur Davtyan made a speech about the peculiarities of the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of Armenia in the context of the accepted legal obligations, as well as the difficulties and key practical problems arising in the field of mutual legal assistance due to imperfect harmonization of national legislative acts with relevant international treaties and agreements.
