ArmInfo.The aspiration of Europe to withdraw allies from Russia, including Armenia, is conditioned by the "cold war" declared to us several years ago by the  West.  Such an opinion was expressed by ArmInfo President of the  Institute of the Middle East (Moscow) Yevgeny Satanovsky.  

According to his estimates, in this situation, the desire to take Russia away  from Russia, especially the post- Soviet countries, is not  surprising. To buy two or three countries from the post-Soviet space  and thereby hit Russian interests for Europeans, in the analyst's  view, is a very important task. This explains the frequent  discussions of such possibilities, the probing of the soil, etc.

"Armenia's Euro-association will first bring money and prospects, and  then ruin and turn into an agrarian product producer." In my opinion,  in this situation Armenia should not be adjusted to Europeans in  order to strengthen relations with the EU. the Armenians are  threatened with loss of identity, which will be the most sad scenario  for Armenia, "the analyst said.

On November 24, Armenia signed the Agreement on Comprehensive and  Enhanced Partnership with the EU on the margins of the Eastern  Partnership Summit in Brussels. Signatures under the agreement in the  presence of the president RA President Serzh Sargsyan and Chairman of  the European Council Donald Tusk were appointed by the RA Foreign  Minister Edward Nalbandian and the head of European diplomacy  Federica Mogherini.

At the same time, Satanovsky believes that signing the agreement with  the EU, the Armenian leadership, personally determining the country's  foreign policy, is convinced of the absence of violations of  relations and treaties with Russia. The analyst, in this light,  assessed Yerevan's policy as balanced, emphasizing its close  affiliation with relations with Moscow.

The agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership has already  become public. The accent in the extensive 357-page document is put  on the affirmation of justice, freedom, security in Armenia;  reforming the Constitution and the judiciary; observance of human  rights and fundamental freedoms, etc. All this is provided that the  European Union participates in financing various projects in Armenia.
