ArmInfo. The EU delegation is ready to assist in the implementation of activities arising from the Armenia-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement. This was stated by the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalsky during the conference "Prevention of Corruption and Protection of Human Rights" on November 27 in Yerevan.
According to him, the signing of the Agreement is in itself a historical fact, however, its implementation is no less important. In this context, as Switalsky pointed out, the EU Delegation in Armenia is ready to intensify efforts in the economic development of Armenia, so that ordinary citizens of the country would feel the growth rates of the economy. "A document is not a magic wand that will solve all the issues at once, but the agreement, if properly realized, will lead to tangible changes in the quality of life of ordinary citizens for the better," he said.
As European diplomat stressed EU encourages, but at the same time, does not oblige to anything. Signing the document, according to the European ambassador, the parties pledged to intensify bilateral relations in various fields - in the direction of fighting corruption, in the area of protecting the rights of citizens and improving judicial procedures. By joint efforts, as the diplomat pointed out, it is possible to ensure that the document becomes an instrument for protecting the rights of citizens and democracy in the country. In addition, the document promises Armenia also economic benefits. Thus, as Piotr Switalsky stressed, Armenia is entering a new era.
