ArmInfo. Those guys who today oppose the law to cancel the postponement from compulsory military service, have the moral right to talk about this, since they have already fulfilled their duty to their homeland. Artak Zeynalyan, deputy from the opposition bloc "Elk" stated this in a conversation with ArmInfo correspondent.
He noted that those authorities who today promote this document, talk about the need to cancel the deferment from military service and morality of this step, do not have moral right to make such statements. "Almost all those, who today speak about the imperative of passing mandatory military service, at one time or another, themselves avoided the army, some by legal methods, some not so much. But even those who have not served legally in due time, but today so vociferously speaks about the necessity of serving in the army for all young people without exception, could, on the voluntary grounds, serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces, not enjoy using the benefits of the law. And today, speaking from the rostrum of the parliament, he could bring life experience as an example, and say that, despite the possibility of postponement on a legal basis, he voluntarily passed military service. After all, there were many examples when a young man, legally freed from military service, voluntarily served to the fatherland even on the front line with a threat to life, and then returned to studies," the deputy said.
Artak Zeynalyan, being one of the best students of Yerevan State Medical University and using a legal delay, nevertheless, as a volunteer participated in the Karabakh war and was seriously wounded.
