Dodon: Armenia and Moldova are condemned to have good relations with  everyone - both with West and with East

ArmInfo.The solemn ceremony of the meeting of Moldavian President Igor Dodon, who arrived in Yerevan for a three-day official visit, was held at the presidential  residence in Armenia.

According to the press service of Armenian President, Igor Dodon and  his wife Galina Dodon were met by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan  and First Lady Rita Sargsyan.

After the official ceremony of the meeting, a tete-a-tete  Sargsyan-Dodon met.

During the meeting, Sargsyan highly appreciated Dodon's visit to  Yerevan, which is taking place in the year of the 25th anniversary of  the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.  "This is a good opportunity to analyze the work that we have done  over the past 25 years and outline the prospects for further  cooperation.Contacts between our peoples have existed for more than  one century, in this regard, our interstate relations are built on a  solid basis.I am sure that your visit to Yerevan will give We are  interested in developing close cooperation in all areas: political,  economic, humanitarian cooperation  both in bilateral and  multilateral formats, "- the Armenian leader noted in his welcoming  speech.

In his turn, Dodon called his visit to Armenia historic, noting that  this is the first visit of the President of Moldova to Armenia for a  quarter of a century of establishing diplomatic relations between the  two states.  "During this time there were no workers or official  visits, therefore, considering our historical commonalities, common  interests within the CIS, new integration projects on the territory  of the Commonwealth, I decided to visit Yerevan." Yes, over 25 years  between our countries signed we have a lot of documents, 7 more are  preparing for signing now, we have something to talk about, there are  some results and prospects, we are interested, and I hope that we  will discuss in detail your experience of membership in the Eurasian  Economic Union.I would like to sign a framework agreement with the EU  I think that such countries as Armenia and Moldova are doomed to have  good relations with everyone - both with the West and with the  East.For us, Moldova, your experience in the EAEU, and cooperation  with the EU is as relevant as ever. I want to express my gratitude  for the support of our decision to become an observer in the EAEU,  "Dodon said. He also touched upon the opening of a diplomatic mission  in Chisinau by Armenia and noted that this is a serious step towards  strengthening bilateral relations. The Moldovan leader expressed his  conviction that Armenia-Moldova relations are reaching a new level of  development.
