Lavrov: Russia stands for active and efficient activities of the OSCE in the South Caucasus

ArmInfo. In the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group play a major role alongside the sides of the conflict. This was on November 3 in Moscow at a joint press conference with the outcome of a meeting with the Secretary General of the OSCE, Thomas Greminger, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"Russia is also interested in the OSCE working more actively and efficiently on the Transnistrian direction with regard to the Geneva discussions on stability in Transcaucasia and the Balkans, and we also note that in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement the co-chairmen of the Minsk Group OSCE, "- said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

He also said that Russia has reaffirmed its line on enhancing the effectiveness of the OSCE, strengthening its role in European and international affairs, and also found a common language with regard to assessing the Organization's available capacity, which is in demand and which can and should be used to restore confidence in the Euro-Atlantic area, preventing the emergence of new dividing lines and eradicating old ones, as well as making collective decisions on topical security and cooperation issues in the interests of all participating States OSCE.
