ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan today did not disprove the information stating the fact that the plot of land near the park "Victory", where trees were cut down, belongs to his brother.
However, at the same time, the prime minister noted that he himself was categorically against the destruction of green areas, without giving, however, a clear answer to the question why in this case his relative decided to cut down trees on this site. "This area was purchased by my brother in 2011, then there were no trees, and construction of the house began in 2014," explained the prime
minister.
Note, among other things, that for decades on the territory opposite the park "Victory" was a front garden. The green territory was destroyed, and the trees were cut down after the construction of elite mansions of high-ranking officials of the country began there. One of the palaces belongs to the former Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, two other deputies from the ruling Republican Party, cousins Mihran Poghosyan and Vahan Harutyunyan. Recently, the construction of a new mansion for the brother of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan began there. And, despite the fact that the prime minister does not like it when green territories are being destroyed, dozens of trees were cut down on this site.
