The qualifying stage of the Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics for senior students started in Yerevan

ArmInfo. On October 28, the qualifying stage of the Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics for senior students started in Yerevan. It takes place within the framework of cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the field of training young personnel for the nuclear industry.  The Olympics in Physics and Mathematics, which will be held within two days, is held at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia with the support of the State Corporation Rosatom. The winners of the Olympiad will receive benefits when they enter the main universities of the State Corporation Rosatom, in particular, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

Addressing the young participants of the Olympics, the head of the Rusatom-international network, Darya Ozerova noted that Rosatom State Corporation initiated the holding of today's Olympics. And although Rosatom is one of the leaders in the world nuclear industry, special attention is paid to the implementation of educational programs. "You will ask why, because nuclear power is one of the most high-tech industries, and Rosatom is rightly called the knowledge corporation." Knowledge is power "- for us it is a call to action, to developing new technologies, creating innovative solutions, development and implementation of best practices. Why is it so important? Because it is not easy to be a leader in the world and to win in the competitive struggle in the world market.This is possible due to the constant development and introduction of new technologies. Today Rosatom unites more than 250 thousand people More than half of them are people with higher education, over 30% are young specialists under the age of 35. And we are thinking about the future of the nuclear industry today, not only in Russia but also in partner countries. a station that provides 40% of the country's electricity, Rosatom is implementing a life extension project, but we also cooperate with universities, organize lectures, meetings and seminars where the most relevant topics are discussed. Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, former MEPhI graduate Artem Petrosyan, wished success to the Armenian children, expressed his confidence that the knowledge received in Russia in the future will be in demand in Armenia. "Nuclear energy has no alternative, since it provides Armenia's energy security," Artem Petrosyan stressed.

ArmInfo noted that students of the senior classes of Armenian schools take part in the Olympiad. The results of its first phase will be summed up by the end of this year. As expected, about 45% of all participating in the Olympics will take part in the second stage, which is tentatively scheduled for February-March 2018. To participate in the Olympics, children will have to register at https://org.mephi.ru/ and create a personal cabinet with the latest information about the participant (phone, e-mail, passport data, educational institution, etc.). The card of the participant printed out of the personal cabinet will become the admission to the Olympiad.
