ArmInfo. On October 26 at 18:00, the deadline for applications for self-withdrawal of registered candidates has expired for the upcoming November 5 elections to the local government.
According to Armenian Central Electoral Committee, 40 out of 144 citizens registered as candidates for the post of head of the community submitted an application for self-withdrawal. Of the 983 candidates wishing to join the Council of elders for self-challenge, 24 candidates applied.
In 26 out of 52 communities, one candidate is represented in local government elections, in two communities - 2 candidates, in 5 communities - 3 candidates, in 5 communities - 4 candidates, in one community - 5 candidates and in 2 communities 6 candidates.
To note, in Armenia on November 5, regular elections to local self-government bodies will be held in 52 communities - Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk, Shirak, Syunik, Vayots Dzor and Tavush districts of the republic.
