ArmInfo.On October 25, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received the heads of governments of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation, Kirghizia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, who will participate in the meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council in Yerevan.
As the press office of the Armenian president reports, the president welcomed the prime ministers of the EAEU member countries and expressed confidence that the meeting of the intergovernmental council to be held in Yerevan today will serve the interests of Eurasian integration. Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of the activities of the Council.
Noting that he is familiar with the agenda of the Yerevan meeting, President Sargsyan, in particular, underscored the problem of eliminating technical obstacles that, according to the president, hamper the free movement of goods, capital and labor in the common market, which negatively affects the expected result of integration processes. The President stresses that it is important that the issues on the agenda be resolved through joint discussions.
In turn, the members of the Eurasian intergovernmental council noted that they intend to carefully consider all issues on the agenda and implement the decisions that were adopted at the summit of the heads of the republics of the EAEU.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev also stressed the work carried out in accordance with the current trends in economic life, so that the economies of the member countries of the Union could maintain competitiveness.
