ArmInfo.Russia continues to make efforts in the direction of creating a value basis capable of becoming attractive to neighboring countries and countries of the post- Soviet space. Such an opinion was expressed by Andrey Areshev, a researcher at the Center for the Study of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Urals and Volga Region of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, at an international round table on "Integration vectors and security: challenges and opportunities".
"Unfortunately, this is not always possible: there is too much variation between the value orientations of Russian society itself, and the development of a single value reference in this light is quite problematic." In this light, even the EAEU countries are looking around in search of guidelines more relevant to their views " , he noted.
In this light, Areshev singled out the absence of humanitarian policy in the EAEU as a big problem, stressing that over the past 25 years, societies and countries have moved away from each other. According to his estimates, not everything boils down to economics, and the societies of the EAEU countries know less about each other than allies should know. However, this is very important for the development of civil relations.
The expert assessed the relations of the countries within the framework of the EAEU as apex, stressing that the meetings and decisions of the presidents and prime ministers, the effective work of the Eurasian Economic Commission on the everyday life of citizens are clearly not reflected to the extent they would like.
