ArmInfo.76% of Armenian citizens who took part in the EU Neighbors survey positively assessed the RA-EU relations.
As stated in the program message, this percentage is much higher than the average for the region (61%). Meanwhile, from the results of the annual EDB Integration Barometer conducted in 2016, it follows that Armenia has the lowest indicators of support for Eurasian integration. If in 2013, when the country officially joined the EAE, 67% of the population treated it positively and only 5% - negative, then in 2014 the ratio of positive attitude dropped to 64%, and the negative ratio increased to 8%. In 2015, already 10% of the Armenian population had a negative attitude towards the EEA, and positively 56%, in 2016, the positive attitude towards Eurasian integration in the country fell sharply to 46%, and the negative - to 15%. In 2017, 48% of Armenians have a positive opinion of the EU, compared with 44% in 2016. The number of people with negative opinions about the EU decreased to 5%.
65% of people in Armenia trust the EU, 56% trust the UN, 50% - the NATO, 35% - NATO. Meanwhile, the proportion of those who do not know or have no opinion on the EU has grown slightly from 7% in 2016 to 10% in 2017. About 40% of Armenian citizens believe that the Russian Federation renders the country more financial support than the EU, a quarter of the population of the Republic of Armenia believes that the IMF / WB also provides more financial support to the country than the EU. In addition, the survey shows that Armenians do not have much confidence in national, regional and local institutions. 24% of Armenians consider political parties the least reliable institutions, and slightly less than a third of citizens (31%) trust religious authorities.
The goal of annual surveys is to study the opinion and level of awareness of the citizens of the Eastern Partnership countries about the EU.
