ArmInfo. Peaceful and democratic Turkey is the only possible way of its peaceful  coexistence with other countries of the region. A similar opinion was  voiced by ArmInfo deputy of the faction of the pro-Kurdish People's  Democratic Party in the Turkish parliament Karo Paylan.

"However, unfortunately, Turkey continues to embrace nationalistic  sentiments, and similar moods reign in Azerbaijan, naturally  projecting onto Armenia incapable of developing in isolation from  regional and global processes, and the situation in other countries  of the region adjoining the South Caucasus is even more uneasy. In  my opinion, thus, nationalist movements in our countries only  strengthen each other, " - he stressed.

According to Pailan estimates, Turkish media, courts and even  parliament are silent and practically inactive by the efforts of  Recep Erdogan today, only the environment of the Turkish president  works. Against this background, talking about the problems of Turkey,  according to him, it becomes more difficult day by day.  The  parliamentarian claims that there were always problems in Turkey,  but, for example, 10 years ago the Turkish society knew that the  country was heading in the right direction of democratic development.

Pailan noted with regret the past two years as the years of the  progressive tendency of Turkey to slide into the black abyss of  totalitarianism. According to his estimates, today the country is  managed from one center, and nationalist vectors of the most diverse  kind dominate in domestic and regional politics. The same Turkey, in  his opinion, is a threat not only to neighboring countries.

In this context, the parliamentarian sees the need for joint  development of mechanisms for peaceful coexistence of representatives  of civil societies of Turkey, and neighboring Armenia, Syria and  Iraq.

"The continuation of the search for a way out of the impasse in which  the Armenian-Turkish relations are located is a necessity, and we  must fight for the establishment of Turkey as a peaceful, democratic  state, this is the only sure way, including towards recognizing the  Armenian Genocide and opening the border with Armenia, summed up  Paylan.
