ArmInfo.Member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Mikael Melkumyan expressed his concern at the PACE tribune over the growing corruption scandals involving Azerbaijan and international structures, stressing that all this undermines the credibility of these organizations and prevents their normal functioning.
According to him, Azerbaijan, trying to maintain its prestige on the international arena, against the backdrop of total dictatorship and violations of human rights and freedoms in that country, massively bribes various influential foreign officials in order to cover up their internal problems. "However, this casts a shadow on the authority of these officials and the states and structures they represent, leveling the value of their decisions," the Armenian MP said, stressing the need to take effective measures to further prevent such negative phenomena in European and international structures.
Authoritative international publications have been publishing materials on corruption scandals with the participation of Azerbaijan, influential foreign politicians and authoritative international structures one after another for a long time.
