ArmInfo.Deputies of the French parliament of Armenian origin actively contribute to the efforts of lobbying organizations promoting the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey. The deputy of the National Assembly of France Daniel Ghazaryan stated this at the press conference in Yerevan.
"However, our ultimate goal is the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Turkey itself," the MP stressed. She also stated that the MPs of the French National Assembly of Armenian origin, as far as possible, contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
Ghazaryan noted that President Emmanuel Macron only recently took office and had not yet had time to actively "plunge" into the Karabakh process, but France, as the country co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group, always played a key role in the negotiations. "France is well aware of the importance of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination," she assured, while the deputy noted that the final settlement of the conflict depends only on the parties themselves.
She also noted that she will visit Karabakh with pleasure, and she is not at all intimidated by the prospect of getting into the black list of Azerbaijan.
Another priority area of activity of the Armenian MPs of the French parliament, according to Ghazaryan, is the promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries. "Activating the economic life of Armenia, improving its indicators will reduce the growth of emigration from the country," she noted.
