ArmInfo. In Yerevan in the National Gallery of Armenia on October 3 an exhibition of the famous Bulgarian artist of Armenian origin Bedik Bedrosyan will open.
As the press service of the Bulgarian embassy told ArmInfo, the exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The main initiator of the cultural event is Kevork Krikoryan from the Armenian society "ARARAT" in Varna, the charity organization "Baregorsakan" financially supports.
The National Gallery of Armenia and the City Gallery of Sofia took part in its preparation. The exhibition is organized with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Yerevan and personally the Ambassador of Mr. Maria Pavlova. The exhibition is called "Prystanishche", since Bulgaria became a haven for Bedrosyan and his family in the hard years of persecution of Armenians. The artist, captivated by the beauty of Dobruja - the land between the Danube River and the Black Sea, made it the main theme of his works.
More than 80 paintings by the artist will be presented in the National Gallery of Armenia, as well as sketches and poems in the Armenian Bedika Bedrosyan. There will also be presented a draft of the monument of the artist, which the famous sculptor Georgi Chapkanov-Chapa gives "Ararat" Varna. The memorial will be installed in Silistra, where Bedrosyan worked most of his life. Very interesting is the fact that in the 40s of the 20th century Bedik Bedrosyan painted icons along with landscapes. The most famous icon of "Three Magi" will be blessed personally by the Catholicos of All Armenians - Garegin II. The artist painted frescoes and domes of the Armenian church "Surp Astvatsatsin" in Silistra.
The temple was founded in 1611 - 1620 years and is one of the oldest Armenian spiritual centers in Bulgaria. The legacy of Bedrosyan includes about 600 works that are kept in art galleries of Silistra, Tutrakan, Dobrich, Varna, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, in public and private collections in Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, USA, Germany, France.
