Ashot Ghulyan: recognition of independence of Karabakh by US states  once again confirm their commitment to the idea of absolute freedom

ArmInfo.American congressman Frank Pallone, who, during the devastating earthquake in Spitak, brought US aid to Armenia, and Tulsi Gabbard from the Hawaiian  Islands on September 20, accompanied by Robert Avetisyan, the  permanent representative of the NKR in the US, Anthony Barsamian, the  cochairman of the Armenian Congress of America (ACA) and the director  of the All-Armenian Fund Hayastan in the United States, Maria  Migranyan, visited Artsakh.

According to NKR Parliament's press service, delegates received the  chairman of the legislative body of the republic Ashot Ghulyan. After  the discussion, the director of the Hay Dat office in the US Aram  Amparyan also took part.

During the meeting Ashot Ghulian noted the importance of successive  efforts of American lawmakers on the way of international recognition  of Artsakh Republic's independence. According to the Speaker of the  Parliament, the resolutions on the recognition of NKR's independence  adopted in the US states not only inspire the people of Artsakh in  the unequal struggle for freedom, but also once again confirm the US  commitment to the idea of absolute freedom.

Congressman Frank Pallone, in turn, noted progress in the political,  economic and social spheres of the NKR. He noted that their  activities are mainly aimed at bringing to the American public 3  truths: Artsakh is a legal state, the republic has gained  independence in accordance with international norms of law and it  effectively operates state institutions. As Tulsi Gabbard noted, she,  like an ex-military woman, understands perfectly well what it means  to live in a war regime. She confirmed her readiness to continue to  promote the just demand of the people of Artsakh.

These days, a delegation of US congressmen arrived in Armenia to  celebrate the Independence Day of the country on September 21 and  discuss ways to expand the Armenian-American economic and political  cooperation. In addition to David Valadao, a Republican congressman,  on whose initiative the US legislature decided to allocate additional  funds for demining operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, the delegation  includes other co-chairmen of the US Congressional Committee on  Armenian Issues - Jackie Speer and Frank Pallone, as well as  congressmen Anna Eshu, Tulsi Gabbard and James Sensenbrenner.
