In turn, the President of Poland cordially congratulated Armenia on the forthcoming Independence Day. The heads of state touched upon the steps aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
The President of Poland thanked Serzh Sargsyan for the support of Poland, which became a temporary member of the UN Security Council. In this regard, the President of Armenia congratulated Poland and expressed the hope that the established traditions of mutual support and understanding will continue. Sargsyan noted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of the political dialogue. Taking into account the transition of Armenia to the parliamentary form of government, the head of state expressed the hope that cooperation in this format will become more significant in the future.
The Armenian President once again stressed the high appreciation of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Polish Sejm.
The sides also touched upon the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. Serzh Sargsyan noted the importance of pursuing a balanced policy, consistent with the position of the OSCE Co-Chairs and the common position of the EU.
President Duda stressed that Poland's position on the conflict remained unchanged: it must be resolved exclusively by peaceful means, on the basis of international law.
