ArmInfo. The Madrid principles are the dream of Armenia, by no any of means. On September 18, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated that at the Sixth Pan-Armenian Forum "Armenia-Diaspora" held in Yerevan under the motto "Mutual trust, unity and responsibility".
The OSCE Minsk Group has been dealing with the settlement of the Karabakh conflict since 1992, represented by the co-chairs from Russia, the United States and France. Currently, the settlement process is based on the Madrid Principles put forward by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in 2007 and updated in 2009, among other things, providing for the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent in the conflict zone.
"We did not propose these principles, they were suggested by the mediators, and only Armenia and Azerbaijan accepted them from the three sides of the conflict, Artsakh does not recognize them even in this capacity," the diplomat recalled.
Kocharyan is convinced that the Armenians should link their own security exclusively with their own forces. The Deputy Minister resolves the Artsakh problem with the strengthening of Armenia and Artsakh, coordinated work in international structures, societies.
