ArmInfo. The development of the national military-industrial complex is in the number of military and political priorities of Armenia. The Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia Artak Zakaryan at the conference organized by the ARF stated this on September 4.
Zakaryan also noted that some products of the national military-industrial complex are already actively used in the armed forces of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
To note, during the last April's fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, the products of the military-industrial complex of Armenia, the automatic artillery reconnaissance system (Automated Complex of Intelligence and Control of Artillery Fire 2K02) were successfully used.
To remind, the Armenian government approved the program of military-industrial development of Armenia, which follows from the strategy of military-industrial and military-technical policy, approved by the President of Armenia in January 2017, during the June 15 session. This program was developed by the State Military-Industrial Committee of Armenia and is aimed at producing part of the armament and property necessary for the Armenian army in the own country. In particular, the following priorities are highlighted in the strategy: 1) To strengthen the role of the military industrial complex as a high-tech versatile system in the innovative development of the economy of the Republic of Armenia; 2) to achieve the optimal balance between the volumes of arms and military equipment, military-technical equipment and special equipment produced in the Republic of Armenia and acquired abroad; 3) ensure the competitiveness of the products of defense industry organizations on foreign markets.
