ArmInfo.Armenian Investigative Committee released the details of the crime of  capturing a hostage in the Yerevan community of Erebuni on August 29.

According to IC message, as a result of operational search activities  it was found that Gor Hakobyan, born in 1986, who captured a  24-year-old woman in Yerevan's billiard club on the 29th of August,  was sentenced to a long prison term in the USA for a serious crime .  He was deported to Armenia 4 months ago, after two months Hakobyan  got acquainted with a woman who later took hostage. With her, he came  to the club on the night of August 29, and at 3:30 pm on the same day  Hakobyan broke the windows and inventory of the club in order to  attract attention. And when the club gathered passers-by and law  enforcement officers, the man put a knife to the throat of his  companion, threatening to kill her and demanding that the club  included five civilians and a lawyer. Attempts by law enforcement  officers to persuade the perpetrator to release the hostage were  unsuccessful, and a decision was made to neutralize him. As a result  of the operation to neutralize the criminal was injured incompatible  with life. It is noteworthy that at the first attempt to neutralize  the criminal the police sniper missed and only with the second  attempt he managed to hit the target.

A criminal case was opened on the fact. After the release, the woman  was taken to the medical center "Erebuni". As ArmInfo was told in the  Ministry of Health, her life is out of danger, the state is medium-  heavy. The woman is in a stressful state, her body has multiple  abrasions and stab wounds.
