ArmInfo.The United States formally appointed Andrew Shaffer as the new permanent co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
According to the US Department of State, Washington remains committed to the work of the OSCE Minsk Group and will continue to help the parties to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict reach a peaceful settlement, support a fair settlement of the conflict on the basis of international law, and Andrew Shaffer will help the parties achieve this goal.
The ministry also notes that the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan have been informed of the appointment of Andrew Shaffer, who began to perform his duties.
