Berdimuhamedov invited Sargsyan to the opening ceremony of 5th Asian  Games in Ashgabat

ArmInfo. Presidents of Armenia and Turkmenistan Serzh Sargsyan and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov (who is on an official visit to Yerevan) issued a statement for the  press following the talks. 

According to the website of the Golden Age, Turkmen leader noted that  during the meeting the parties reaffirmed mutual desire to support to  the strengthening of global peace and stability, the establishment of  principles of trust and mutual understanding in international  relations. At the same time, the readiness was expressed to develop  partnership in this direction, both in a bilateral format, and within  the framework of UN, OSCE, CIS and other international structures.

According to Berdimuhamedov, the sides agreed on further  consolidation of efforts to contradict the challenges and threats of  international security, including in the sphere of struggle with  terrorism, transnational crime and illegal turnover of drugs.   President of Turkmenistan especially stressed that the current  meeting strengthened the foundations of a qualitatively new and more  dynamic partnership in trade and economic sphere. The most promising  areas were trade, energy, transport and communications, agriculture,  health care, textile industry, the importance of developing direct  contacts and business ties between business structures was  underlined.

Turkmen leader also said that the humanitarian aspects of bilateral  relations had been given great attention at the talks and an  agreement was reached to fully support the aspiration of the peoples  of the two countries to close communication, study the rich cultural  and historical heritage, create conditions for creative cooperation  between cultural and art workers of Turkmenistan and Armenia.  Berdimuhamedov recalled that in September of this year in the capital  of Turkmenistan, the city of Ashgabat, the 5th Asian Games in closed  premises and in martial arts will take place. In this regard,  President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was invited to visit Turkmenistan  to participate in the opening ceremony of the Games, which will be  held on September 17.
