This was stated by the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in an interview with the Iranian newspaper Sharg on the eve of his visit to Iran.
According to him, the basis for the development of cooperation between the two countries has its roots in the deep past. "Our countries are carriers of the oldest civilization, connected with thousands of different threads," Sargsyan said, stressing that over the past 25 years the relations between Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran have been constantly developing, including the most diverse spheres - from political to trade and economic, from humanitarian to cultural- Educational.At the same time, the Armenian leader noted that the RA and IRI are in the neighborhood of the most unstable regions of the planet.

In fact, the RA leader stressed, Armenia and Iran are not consumers of international security, but its creators. "Armenia and Iran have one commonality - our policy is based on the desire to achieve justice, which is very important in the peaceful resolution of existing problems," he said, stressing that the countries also unite the preaching of universal values.According to Sargsyan, the relations between Armenia and Iran are unique and exemplary. The President stressed that there is a great untapped potential in the sphere of cooperation in the field of science and education, in particular, it is necessary to intensify the exchange of students.
