ArmInfo.Most cases of violence in Armenian families are related to beatings. The Investigative Committee of Armenia sums up its work for the first half of 2017 on  cases related to domestic violence

In total, during the reporting period, 215 criminal cases on domestic  violence were investigated, the main military investigation  department of the IC investigated one of which.

Most cases are related to the violence of a husband against his wife  - with beatings. In addition, cases of murder by family members,  sexual violence against children, malicious evasion of parents from  caring for children, and other criminal manifestations have been  recorded.

Out of 215 criminal cases that were in the IC, 127 case were cases of  beatings on the grounds of the 118th article of the Criminal Code of  Armenia, 24 cases are related to deliberate infliction of slight  damage to health, 15 cases are brought under Article 137 - the threat  of murder, causing serious harm to health or destruction of property,  11 cases - under Article 141 (committing sexual acts with a person  under the age of sixteen), 6 cases under article 112 (intentional  infliction of grievous bodily harm), 6 cases were held under Article  173 (Malicious evasion of the parent from co Keeping the child), 5  cases - under Article 104 (murder) and 4 cases under Article 113  (deliberate harm to the average severity of health).

Two of the crimes were committed by the mother, 11 by the father, one  by the stepmother, two by the stepfather, two by the brother or  sister, 14 by the children, including the foster family, 63 by the  husband, 5 by the wife, 4 by the grandchildren, 5 -  daughter-in-law/son-in-law, one - guardian or trustee.

During the preliminary investigation, 115 persons were brought in as  defendants, 60 of whom are aged between 18 and 35, and 55 are over 35  years old. 161 people were found to be injured, including 8 persons,  under 12 years old, 7 - at the age from 12 to 14 years, 10 - from 14  to 16 years, 2 - from 16 to 18 years, 81 - from 18 to 35 years and 53  - over 35 years of age. With the indictment, 43 criminal cases  against 46 people were sent to the court.
