With the support of Beeline, the website launched "Armenpress:  History"

ArmInfo.The news agency ArmenPress, Beeline in Armenia and the Center for Technological Development announce the launch of the history.armenpress.am website within the framework of the project "Armenpress: History", which aims to digitize some of the photos (10,000) from the agency's unique photo archive.

As the press service of the company told ArmInfo, the sponsor of the project was Beeline in Armenia, and the Center for Technological Development fund is working on digitization. <The project digitized about 6,500 photographs, 2500 of which have already been published on the site. Being the oldest information agency in Armenia (founded in 1918), Armenpress covered all important events in the life of our country in the last 100 years, the company said in a statement.

"Respect and concern for one's own history are inherent in developed societies, and the creation of this website is a direct contribution to Armenian historiography. The creation of a digital photo history of the country is an important achievement in the information age.  Beeline is proud to be a part of this process, as studying the past is the guarantee of a better future, "said Beeline Director General in Armenia Andrei Pyatakhin. For his part, the director of the news agency Armenpress, Aram Ananyan, noted: "Today we are proud to announce the launch of the" Armenpress: History "website. There are few agencies in the world that have implemented similar projects and opened the best copies of their photo archive for general access. The mission of the State Information Agency of Armenia, created in 1918, was and still is the presentation of operative and reliable information. And the fact that the results of the work of our journalists and photographers becomes an integral part of history shows that all our colleagues have always been faithful to this mission. 

According to Samvel Chakhalyan, the chairman of the council of the Center for Technological Development Foundation, the site was implemented with the help of the latest solutions and in modern design. <It allows you to group photos by date, period, format, photographer's name, subject, location and so on. These functions allow you to quickly and conveniently use the archive, as well as share pictures in social networks and other venues. The site is accessible from computers, smartphones and tablets, "he added.

It should be noted that the Center for Technological Development implements the project in the agency Armenpress. All copyrights and accompanying rights to use photographs obtained as a result of the project belong exclusively to the news agency "Armenpress".
