ArmInfo.Armenians are able to work, perhaps, as few in this region of our post-Soviet space. And they prove it, not only living in Armenia, but also in other countries, living in Russia," believes the deputy of the State Duma of Russia Konstantin Zatulin.
"Today in the Caucasus, Russia has only one reliable ally, Armenia: it is possible to differentiate the reasons: historical relations, Christian affinity and the fact that Armenia is surrounded by all sides with far from friendly neighborhood, and also the presence of conflicts in the region," he said.
According to his estimates, fidelity of Armenia to Russia is determined by all these factors combined, coupled with the fact that Armenians are citizens of Russia in an amount that is comparable to the number of people living in Armenia today.
During the discussion of the ratification of treaty on Armenian-Russian joint grouping of troops, he also expressed confidence in the defensive nature of Armenian-Russian grouping and in that it is called upon to ensure peace in the region.
