The day before, the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots made such an offer, which recommended ratifying the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia on the joint grouping of troops (forces).
The agreement and annex to it determine the purpose, procedure for the formation, deployment and application of the combined group of troops of the Russian Federation and Armenia.
It is noted that the united group is intended to ensure military security in the Caucasus region of collective security. The combined group consists of the command and control agencies and troops (forces) of the armed forces of the parties, as well as other troops, military formations and bodies of the parties deployed in the region in the immediate threat of aggression or in time of war to repel possible aggression and planned to be used under unified command,
According to a single plan and plan, "- said in an explanatory note. Authorized bodies for the implementation of the agreement are the Defense Ministries of Russia and Armenia, they determine the composition of the combined group based on an analysis of the military-political situation and taking into account the direction of potential threats. It is established that the planning of the application of the joint grouping is conducted in peacetime on the basis of a joint directive of the general staffs of the armed forces of the parties. <The plan of its application is developed by the command and the operational group allocated from the Russian military base stationed on the territory of the Republic of Armenia. The main tasks of the united group include the timely opening of the immediate preparation of an armed attack (aggression) against the Russian Federation and Armenia and its reflection; Covering the overland part of the state border of both states within the established limits of responsibility; Participation in the protection of the state border of the Russian Federation and Armenia in the airspace, as well as participation in the air defense of troops and critical facilities of both countries located in the region and is approved by the chiefs of the general staffs of the armed forces of the parties, "the explanatory note says.
