According to the press service of the Armenian president, during the meeting the sides discussed Armenia- EU relations and prospects for further cooperation. Serzh Sargsyan and Herbert Salber highly appreciated the current level of relations between Armenia and the EU. The President of the Republic thanked the EU for the assistance rendered by the Madad Foundation to Syrian Armenians who found refuge in Armenia. Suggest corrective The interlocutors discussed the process of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict and the latest developments on the contact line between the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan. Sargsyan expressed concern over the incessant provocative policy of Baku, which increases the level of tension-contrary to the consecutive appeals of the OSCE Minsk Group.
The EU representative stressed that for the EU the peaceful process of the settlement of the Karabakh conflict has no alternative. According to him, it is necessary to exert maximum efforts to avoid an increase in the degree of tension, with the aim of returning to the negotiation process.
